Keiser University's Associate of Science degree in Fire Science provides instruction in fire prevention methods, fire detection systems, fire codes, fire investigation rescue, safety and salvage procedures, hazardous materials, pump operations, fire behavior, plans reading and extinguishment. The goal of this curriculum is develop students' abilities to perform community service for protection of life and property. This program assists in qualifying firefighters for management positions with the Fire Service. Course highlights include: Fire Prevention Practices, Fire Investigation, Fire Department Administration and Firefighting Tactics and Strategy. Graduates of this program have a thorough understanding of crisis management, fire suppression and extinguishment methods. This AS in Fire Science requires 60 credits to complete.
